Welcome to Bedford Modern School Sixth Form

By choosing to join the Sixth Form at Bedford Modern School you are entering an important phase of your education and your personal development. We are obviously interested in preparing you for your AS and A Levels but we do not believe that a successful Sixth Form should stop at this.

The Sixth Form at Bedford Modern School has been designed to act as a bridge to University and The Rutherford Centre has been built with this aim in mind. We believe that we offer a unique experience for students that combines high expectation, an adult environment and copius amounts of individual support and attention. Greater freedom and independence are one of the main differences between the Senior School and the Sixth Form. Responsibilities also change and as a senior member of the school community you will find that there are many opportunities for you to take a part in leading the life of the whole school.

We understand that at some point all Sixth formers stumble on the path to success and at Bedford Modern our aim is to provide all students with the individual support and attention they need, be it from the subject teacher, tutor, or from one of our Sixth Form Learning Mentors.

I do hope you will take the time to explore the rest of the site but the best way of getting acquainted is a personal one and I hope you will take the opportunity to visit us, either at one of our events for prospective students, or on one of our taster days.
